Brady Landscaping Offers a Full Range of Lawn Maintenance Services.
Basic Lawn Service
All established turf areas within the limits of the premises are mowed weekly, weather permitting, April through October. In cases of drought stress or slow growth, mowing intervals may be extended. All turf are mowed at a height of three (3) inches, unless quality or grade requires a higher setting. Grass is cut so that no more than 1/3 of the grass blade is removed at one time. Grass clippings are bagged or mulched to eliminate any visible All obstacles or areas not accessible with a large mowing machine are “trimmed” with a string trimmer, in a manner as to avoid damage to the obstacle or turf.
- All curbs, sidewalks, and concrete surfaces are edged with a string trimmer to create a void between the turf and concrete.
- All excess clippings are blown from sidewalks, parking areas, driveways, etc. All trash and other debris on the turf and landscape areas are policed and removed from the site.

Spring Clean up and Leaf Removal
Spring cleanup prepares the landscape for the start of another growth season. Leaves and other related debris, which would hinder new turf development, is removed from the lawn and landscape area. All existing bed areas and tree saucers are spade edged and have debris removed to provide a manicured appearance.
Lawn Re-Seeding
Re-seeding promotes new growth and fills in thin patches. Reseeding your lawn each year ensures a thick, beautiful lawn. It is recommended that lawns be seeded after aeration.
Lawn Aeration
The lawn area is mechanically aerated. Aeration or core cultivation is the process of removing thousands of plugs of thatch and soil approximately 2 inches deep and 5/8″ in diameter.
Aerating supplies the soil with air, by poking holes in the ground throughout the lawn using an aerator. It reduces soil compaction and helps control thatch in lawns while helping water and fertilizer move into the root zone. Aeration is the most important step in helping your lawn to breathe properly. Aeration prepares your lawn for seeding and fertilizing, assisting these treatments to properly penetrate the soil.
Lawn Thatched
A mechanical power rake/lawn comb is used to remove excess thatch from the lawn area. All resulting debris is collected and removed from the property.
Thatch consists of a dense mat of roots, stems and grass clipping, which accumulate above the soil and below the grass blade. A small amount of thatch is beneficial to a lawn because it becomes an organic fertilizer as it breaks down. A heavy buildup of thatch, however, weakens the lawn. A thick layer of thatch prevents the penetration of moisture and nutrients into the soil, limits air flow to the root system and may harbor insects and disease. To keep thatch at a healthy level, excess thatch should be removed with a power rake/lawn comb once per year.
Pruning Shrubs and Small Trees
Shrubs and small trees are trimmed and pruned as needed to ensure proper informal shape, fullness, and bloom. Tree pruning is limited to branches below twenty (20) feet in height. All resulting debris is removed from the property. No trees, under utility lines will be pruned and no pruning will be done during or immediately following growth flushes. Sucker
growth is removed by hand from the base of trees.
Mulching Shrubs and Flower Beds
All existing landscape bed areas and tree saucers are spade edged and debris removed to provide a manicured appearance. Mulch is installed at a depth of three (3) inches and formed to be aesthetically appealing while maintaining proper horticultural practices.
Lawn Fertilizer & Crabgrass Per-emergent
A quick release fertilizer balanced to provide an early green up is applied to the lawn area along with a per-emergent to provide protection against crabgrass and other “grassy” weeds.
Late Spring Lawn Fertilizer & Broad Leaf Weed Control
A slow release fertilizer with iron is applied to the lawn area to provide for a deep green color and vigorous growth. Broad leaf weed control is also applied over the entire lawn area.
Lawn Fertilizer with Slow Release Nutrients
Fertilizers with slow release nutrients is applied to provide drought and disease tolerance. Late summer annual weeds are also treated as needed and a complete lawn inspection is done.
Early Fall Lawn Fertilizer & Broad Leaf Weed Control
A high potassium fertilizer is applied to the lawn specifically to encourage root growth. Roots grow occurs most in the fall, proper feeding is critical at that time. Any late weeds are also treated.
Late Fall Balanced Lawn Fertilizer
The single most important feeding of the year! A high nitrogen feeding is applied to the lawn allowing it to store important nutrients over the winter month for a much healthier lawn in the spring and an early green up.
Fall Clean Up & Leaf Removal
Fall cleanup prepares the landscape for the winter months. Leaves and other related debris are removed from the lawn and landscape area. All existing bed areas and tree saucers have debris removed to provide a manicured appearance.
